Leather Care & Tips
Every piece from Slithering Serenity is handcrafted from genuine leather, and no two hides are exactly alike. Natural markings, variations in color, and changes that develop with use are part of what makes your piece truly one of a kind. With a little care, your leather goods will age beautifully and last for years.
Everyday Care
- Keep your leather item clean and dry.
- Gently wipe away dust or dirt with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid overfilling wallets and bags, as this can stretch the leather and alter its shape.
- Allow wet leather to air-dry naturally at room temperature.
- Store your item in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Hand-Dyed Leather
Some of our pieces are individually dyed by hand. Slight variations in color are a natural part of this artisanal process and make every piece unique. If hand-dyed leather becomes wet, some color may bleed or transfer onto clothing and other surfaces, especially light-colored fabrics.
Conditioning Your Leather
Leather may benefit from occasional conditioning to help prevent it from becoming dry or stiff. Use a small amount of conditioner made specifically for the type of leather you own. Always test it on a hidden area first, as conditioners may darken or change the appearance of the leather.
What to Avoid
Keep leather away from prolonged exposure to water, extreme heat, direct sunlight, perfumes, household cleaners, and harsh chemicals. Never use a hair dryer or another heat source to dry wet leather.
